EcoFlow TRAIL Series Announced – Portable Power Stations

The newly announced EcoFlow TRAIL series is a line of three compact, lightweight, and affordable portable power stations designed for short trips and everyday mobile charging needs.

Key Features & Highlights:

  • Ultra-Compact and Lightweight: Designed to be easily carried in a backpack. The smallest model weighs only 2.8 lbs (1.27 kg).
  • Fast Charging: All models support X-Stream fast charging technology, allowing them to be fully recharged via a wall outlet in under 1.5 hours.

    • USB-C (with Power Delivery for laptops)
    • USB-A
    • AC outlets (for smaller AC devices)

On-set applications

For many creators, portable power is an ongoing concern when working outside a studio or away from outlets. The EcoFlow TRAIL models will not replace high-capacity power stations, but they may be useful in situations where portability and quick charging are more important than maximum runtime. The TRAIL 200 DC emphasizes small size, the TRAIL 300 D adds more battery life and solar support, and the TRAIL Plus 300 D introduces extra usability features like built-in lighting.

Competing power stations

The portable power category is growing quickly, with more options appearing for different production scales. The EcoFlow TRAIL series looks to be aimed at everyday carry and smaller setups, while larger systems, such as the DJI Power 2000 that we recently covered, are intended for heavier on-set demands (prior to that, we also reviewed the DJI Power 1000 and Power Expansion 2000). That gives filmmakers and creators more flexibility in choosing the right balance between portability and capacity.

The bottom line

The EcoFlow TRAIL series adds another option for those who want portable power in a small package. With one hour of charging, USB-C outputs, and solar compatibility, these power stations could be a useful addition to certain on-set or travel setups.
